The Road Safety World Series, or RSWS, is a T20 cricket competition featuring retired cricketers organised by the Road Safety Cell of Maharashtra to raise awareness about road safety. The series features notable retired players from India, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Australia and Bangladesh. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar is the commissioner of the series, while Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador.Ravi Gaikwad is the founder of the Road Safety World Series.

The Fritzl case emerged in 2008, when a woman named Elisabeth Fritzl told police in the town of Amstetten, Austria, that she had been held captive for 24 years by her father, Josef Fritzl. Fritzl had assaulted, sexually abused, and raped her numerous times during her imprisonment inside a concealed area in the basement of the family home. The abuse by Elisabeth's father resulted in the birth of seven children: three of them remained in captivity with their mother, one had died just days after birth at the hands of Josef Fritzl who disposed of his body in an incinerator, and the other three were brought up by Fritzl and his wife, Rosemarie, having been reported as foundlings.

Sarah Everard was an English marketing executive who disappeared in South London on the evening of 3 March 2021. Everard, a resident of London's Brixton Hill area, went missing after leaving a friend's house near Clapham Common to walk home. On 9 March, Wayne Couzens, a Metropolitan Police officer who was serving with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection unit, was arrested in Deal, Kent, firstly on suspicion of Everard's kidnapping and later on suspicion of her murder. On 10 March, Everard's remains were discovered in woodland near Ashford. Couzens was charged with her kidnap and murder two days later, following the positive identification of the remains.
