The COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in January 2020 and a pandemic in March 2020. As of 28 January 2021, more than 100 million cases have been confirmed, with more than 2.17 million deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Kano is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game and media franchise by NetherRealm Studios/Midway Games. He is one of the series' original characters, having made his debut in the first Mortal Kombat in 1992. A calculating Australian mercenary and member of the international crime cartel known as the Black Dragon, Kano is also the top fugitive and persistent nemesis of Sonya Blade and Jax Briggs of the Special Forces, which has been his primary storyline throughout the course of his Mortal Kombat series appearances.
