On January 29, 2019, Jussie Smollett reported to the Chicago Police Department a fake hate crime that he had staged earlier that morning. Smollett had planned the event with two Nigerian brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, who had worked with Smollett as extras on the set of the television drama, Empire. Smollett arranged for the brothers to physically attack him while wearing ski masks. During the attack, which took place in the 300 block of East Lower North Water Street in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood, the brothers shouted racial and homophobic slurs while one poured bleach on him and the other placed a noose around his neck. In addition to falsely reporting that he had been attacked against his will by two unknown individuals, Smollett described one of them as a white male. Smollett also told police the men shouted "MAGA country" during the attack, a reference to the political slogan Make America Great Again. The brothers later testified that Smollett staged the attack near a surveillance camera so that video of it could be publicized.

Ansel Easton Adams was an American landscape photographer and environmentalist known for his black-and-white images of the American West. He helped found Group f/64, an association of photographers advocating "pure" photography which favored sharp focus and the use of the full tonal range of a photograph. He and Fred Archer developed an exacting system of image-making called the Zone System, a method of achieving a desired final print through a deeply technical understanding of how tonal range is recorded and developed in exposure, negative development, and printing. The resulting clarity and depth of such images characterized his photography.

Pamela Marie Hupp is an American woman who in 2016 murdered Louis Gumpenberger in her home in O'Fallon, Missouri, a crime for which she is serving a life sentence. The O'Fallon Police Department believe Hupp murdered Gumpenberger as part of a plot to implicate Russ Faria in the 2011 murder of his wife, Betsy Faria, a crime for which he was convicted in 2013, in part due to testimony from Hupp, and subsequently exonerated in 2015 after evidence implicating Hupp as the perpetrator of the murder was permitted to be submitted. The murder of Betsy Faria has never been solved; the investigation was reopened in June 2019. Hupp has also been investigated in connection with the 2013 death of her mother, Shirley Neumann, which was originally judged to be an accident before being changed to "undetermined" in November 2017.
The Keystone Pipeline System is an oil pipeline system in Canada and the United States, commissioned in 2010 and owned by TC Energy and as of 31 March 2020 the Government of Alberta. It runs from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in Alberta to refineries in Illinois and Texas, and also to oil tank farms and an oil pipeline distribution center in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Badhaai Do is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film jointly written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial and directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni. The film produced by Junglee Pictures, that serves as a spiritual sequel of the 2018 film Badhaai Ho. It stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles as a couple in a lavender marriage. The principal photography began on 5 January 2021 in Dehradun. Badhaai Do is scheduled for theatrical release on 11 February 2022.

In 2006, Kejriwal was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in recognition of his involvement in the grassroots level movement Parivartan using right to information legislation in a campaign against corruption. The same year, after resigning from Government service, he donated his Magsaysay award money as a corpus fund to found the Public Cause Research Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Elagabalus or Heliogabalus, officially known as Antoninus, was Roman emperor from 218 to 222. His short reign was conspicuous for sex scandals and religious controversy. A close relative to the Severan dynasty, he came from a prominent Arab family in Emesa (Homs), Syria, where in his early youth he served as head priest of the sun god Elagabal. After the death of his cousin the emperor Caracalla, Elagabalus was raised to the principate at 14 years of age in an army revolt instigated by his grandmother, Julia Maesa, against Caracalla's short-lived successor, Macrinus. As a private citizen, he was probably named Varius Avitus Bassianus. Upon becoming emperor he took the name Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, and only posthumously became known by the Latinised name of his god.

Theranos was a privately held health technology corporation. It was initially touted as a breakthrough technology company, with claims of having devised blood tests that required only very small amounts of blood and could be performed very rapidly using small automated devices the company had developed. However, the claims later proved to be false. Founded in 2003 by 19-year-old Elizabeth Holmes, Theranos raised more than US$700 million from venture capitalists and private investors, resulting in a $10 billion valuation at its peak in 2013 and 2014. Theranos was hyped to its investors and in the media as a breakthrough in the blood-testing market, where the U.S. diagnostic-lab industry posts annual sales of over $70 billion. Theranos claimed its technology was revolutionary and that its tests required only about 1/100 to 1/1,000 of the amount of blood that would ordinarily be needed and cost far less than existing tests.
