On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, United States, killing 19 people. Earlier that day, Ramos shot and wounded his grandmother. Of the people fatally shot, 18 were children and one was a teacher. Ramos, a student at a nearby high school, was killed after a shootout with police.
