Many of his later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts—typically all or part of the skeleton.
Christopher Scarver is an American convicted murderer best known for his fatal assault on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson at the Columbia Correctional Institution in 1994. Scarver used a 20-inch (51 cm) metal bar, which he had removed from a piece of exercise equipment in the prison weight room, to beat Dahmer and Anderson. Both Dahmer and Anderson later died from their injuries. Scarver was sentenced to two further life sentences for the killings.

Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, also known as Jina Amini, was an Iranian-Kurdish woman who was arrested and abused by the Guidance Patrol of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a special police squad in charge of public implementation of Islamic hijab regulations, for her hijab not meeting the government's mandatory Hijab standards. The official report of the police was that she went into heart failure and died after two days in a coma. But further evidence shows that her head was beaten with a stick and smashed into a police car multiple times. This violent act of the Guidance Patrol led to Amini suffering a brain hemorrhage, coma, and subsequently tragic death. Her death has become a symbol of violence against women in Iranian society.

Gein's crimes, committed around his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, gathered widespread notoriety in 1957 after authorities discovered he had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and fashioned trophies and keepsakes from their bones and skin. Gein also confessed to killing two women: tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954 and hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957.

The film is set in the mid-22nd century when humans are colonizing Pandora, a lush habitable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system, in order to mine the mineral unobtanium, a room-temperature superconductor. The expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of a local tribe of Na'vi – a humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. The film's title refers to a genetically engineered Na'vi body operated from the brain of a remotely located human that is used to interact with the natives of Pandora.

Ponniyin Selvan is a historical novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, written in Tamil. The novel was first serialised in the weekly editions of Kalki during period from 29 October 1950 to 16 May 1954, and released in book form of five parts in 1955. In five volumes, or about 2210 pages, it tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman (அருள்மொழிவர்மன்), who later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I. Kalki visited Sri Lanka three times to gather information for it.
