The official report of the police was that she went into heart failure and died after two days in a coma. But further evidence shows that her head was beaten with a stick and smashed into a police car multiple times. Ponniyin Selvan is a historical novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, written in Tamil. The novel was first serialised in the weekly editions of Kalki during period from 29 October 1950 to 16 May 1954, and released in book form of five parts in 1955.
