Emily in Paris is an American comedy-drama streaming television series created by Darren Star, which premiered on Netflix on October 2, 2020. On 9 December 2019, at 14:11 NZDT, the volcanic island Whakaari / White Island in New Zealand's northeastern Bay of Plenty region explosively erupted. There were 47 people on the island at the time.
